Once the account is created, you need to add the website to manage it. To do this, we can use the option "Add a site" as shown in the figure below:
To add a new site to your account, we will need to verify it. Thus, Google will know that the site is yours. To verify the site you have to upload an HTML file to the root directory of your website. The upload process of the HTML file is very simple , simply download it from the Google Webmaster Tools account (is an .html file which name is a long alphanumeric string)), and upload it from your PC to the root of your website with any file manager or FTP client (ICTEA can help with this).
After verifying the account, you then have control of it, and basically can perform the following operations:
- Indicate the site map
- Check the keywords for which Google users come to your site
- View statistics and indexing errors of the Google robot
- Etc.
